KUHailing from California, KU a.k.a. Kustoo (pronounced koo-sto), has been influenced by a wide range of hip-hop. From Dr. Dre to Kanye West to Andre 3000, KU’s unique style is the result of a silky, yet passion-filled voice, paired with real-life inspired lyrics. His street side is apparent, yet it is tempered with a smoothness reminiscent of Jay Z. KU brings a taste of versatility to Hip-Hop.

A star in his own right, KU’s versatility can be seen in his body of work. He has been featured as an actor on NBC’s sitcom Community as well as Sony’s feature film “Walk Hard” starring John C. Reilly. KU’s was also a part of the Paramount Pictures film “Drillbit Taylor” starring Owen Wilson, in which he co-wrote the energizing Rap Freestyle Battle with Seth Rogen and also coached the actors on set for the scene.” His music has also been featured on television shows such as “Community”, “Blue Mountain State”, “Burn Notice”,“One Tree Hill”, “America’s Next Top Model”, “Crash” and many others. His music has also been a part of video games for Sony PlayStation as well as various other television shows and feature films.

KU is currently working on his second album and creating for television and film.

KU recently released his debut album “Before the Hype” featuring the hit singles
“Come and Go” and “KU Da King”.

In addition to KU’s hip-hop roots, KU has teamed up with the band Vajra. VAJRA is a unique collaboration of guitar, trumpet, bass, drums and vocals. They have an explosive live show that is composed of original songs bursting with originality and a contagious energy. They have described as Earth, Wind, and Fire on crack to Ozzy Osbourne version of hip-hop. Either way, the collaboration between the two has caught the attention of all of Southern California, and it is just a matter of time before they are known across the rest of the nation. VAJRA featuring K.U. performs constantly around Los Angeles (House of Blues, Roxy, Key Club, Knitting Factory, Temple Bar, etc…) and has opened for old school hip hop legends De La Soul as well as Biz Markie.
