It’s almost the weekend which means there are sneakers getting ready to drop. I am your host Jacque Slade and this is the Heat Check.

Lets kicks things off with one of the biggest stars in the NBA, Kevin Durant. Nike Basketball is giving KD a new look for his road games in what they are calling the Road Camo KD7. The blue on these really pop and the addition of the two camo prints is a nice touch. These actually dropped today and are available at Finish Line for $150. If you want premium in your style, the Nike Air Python is dropping tomorrow in what looks like a python colorway. Officially Nike is just calling it an embossed snakeskin upper, but it is really the hits of light stone that really make this one pop. Part Jordan 2 part Air Force 2, this premium pair will cost you $150 n Friday.

Jordan Brand is showing a lot of love for the grade school sizes this week with an Air Jordan 4 in Black and Fuchsia flash. The model is actually going to be available in the new grade school size which go all the way to 9.5, so ladies if you wear a size 11, you can get these on the low and not pay the men’s prices. Those will cost you $140 on Saturday and will be at Finish Line as well. Leaving the retros alone for a bit, the LeBron 12 mixes Black, Pink Pow, and Blue Lagoon on what Nike is calling the 23 Chromosomes pair. Like the KD I spoke of earlier, the blue really pops on this pair. Inspired by gel-reading used for DNA, this LeBron 12 will cost you $200 and you get to learn a bit about how cells work.

February is Black History Month and Nike Basketball as well as Jordan are celebrating a bit early with a special collection that releases over the next few weeks. Starting this weekend, Jordan is kicking things off with 2 Air Jordan 1s. The first pair comes in the normal sizing, while the second pair will be for Grade School. The adult pair will cost you $130, while the Grade School size will cost you $120. Switching to Basketball, Nike’s latest signature sneaker, the Nike Krie 1 will celebrate Black History month as well with a simple black and white design on the upper. Pricing for those tops out at $130.

Skateboarders will also get some BHM love this weekend with the release of the Nike SB Dunk Low Premium. I remember last year’s model had the fat tongue and I hoping they do the same this year. Look for those to cost you $135. Keeping thing performance focused, we have one more look from Nike Basketball on the Kobe 9 Elite. This pair has almost a Yin-yang effect on the upper with just black and white flyknit that extends all the way from the toe to the top of the ankle. Those will cost you $250. And finally, the Jordan XX9 is also getting a special make-up to celebrate Black History Month and features the brand’s special BHM print that extends over the entire upper. Pricing for the Flight Plate and Performance Weave upper on these is the same as usual and they will be hitting Finish Line on Saturday for $225.
