Black History Month doesn’t officially start until February, but Nike is celebrating a bit early with the announcement of their 2015 BHM Collection. Reaching across basketball, football, running, soccer and skateboarding, the collection looks to honor the athletes and coaches on the Nike roster that have set a standard and paved the way for the next generation.
Starting with Nike Basketball, the collection includes the signature shoes of all four athletes, Kobe Bryant, Kyrie Irving, Kevin Durant, and LeBron James. Each of their signatures have been updated with a black and white upper mixed with 3 different prints. The BHM print is used throughout the upper of the 4 shoes, each given a distinct look over the upper.
Nike Sportswear is also celebrating Black History Month with a collection of shoes and apparel that includes the Air Force 1 Duckboot, Air Max 1, Air Max 1 Ultra, and the Air Force 1 Ultra Force. On the apparel side, Nike Sportswear has introduced the two different hats, a tank top, and a at-shirt.
Finally, Jordan Brand is celebrating Black History Month by mixing the past and the present. The Air Jordan XX9 received it’s own version of the BHM pattern seen on the Nike Basketball product, and the Air Jordan 1 received a similar print.
