Nike Football 2014 Innovations

The torch of the World Cup is readying to land in Brasil,  and Nike today announced a new collections to highlight footwear, apparel and equipment innovations for players and fans. Starting with the players, Nike’s goal was to create pieces that highlight the beauty of the game and still maintain the high-standards that athletes demand. Nike Created kits that combine high-tech innovation to keep players cool, such as laser-cut ventilation, engineered mesh and Nike Dri-FIT technology, all while staying environmentally sustainable. In between games, Nike also created the “Athlete Journey” collection to keep athletes in the proper attire for warm-ups, anthems, playing and training, to media appearances, travel and downtime in the training camp.

When completely off the pitch, Nike’s design team curated several lifestyle pieces that the players can wear that include the The N98 Track Jacket, The Nike League Polo, Nike Tech Pant, Tech Fleece Full Zip Hoody, The IRD Saturday Jacket and Tiempo ’94, pieces we also saw at the Nike F.C. launch. The highlight of the pack is the N98 Jacket that utilizes Nike’s Tech Fleece and was created for Brasil, England, and France.

Outside of the official collection, Nike SB created a special skate jersey made of the same performance materials and innovations as the Official Match jersey. Hurley is mixing it up for the surfer crowd as well with a special edition of their award winning Phantom Board Shorts that we spotted just a few days ago. Finally, Jordan Brand will be getting in on the World Cup soccer love with a special Air Jordan 6 to celebrate Brasil’s quest for a 6th star. Jordan Brand will also be announcing additional pieces for the collection in the coming weeks.

All in all, Nike is ramping up for World Cup with innovative pieces for athletes and fans.
