Nike keeps FuelBand iOS only, no plans for Android App

If you were holding out on your Android phone because you were hoping that Nike would expand the FuelBand to the Nike ecosystem, it looks like you are on the wrong side of history. Since the beginning, it has always been a bit of a mystery why the Nike FuelBand didn’t have equal support across the two major platforms, but the companies @NikeSupport account recently replied to a user with the following message: “Right now, we’re focused on iOS and web. We’re not working on an Android App.” While the option for Android users to use the web is still available, they do loose out on the convenience of having the program on their mobile phones.

Following the release of the tweet, the Nike’s PR department released the following statement:

To deliver the best experience for all Nike+ FuelBand users, we are focusing on the FuelBand experience across iOS and nikeplus.com, where you can sync your activity, set new goals, and connect with friends. At this time, we are not working on an Android version of the mobile app.
